Enrolment - School Community Services

Community Nurse

The Community Health Nurse provides a screening service for school students, testing both sight and hearing. Some students may be referred for further specialist attention. Immunisation clinics occur at the school for Year 8 students. Please note that parents should inform the school of any medical disability or treatment which may require a modified educational program.

Kindergarten Children

Immunisation should be completed before entering Pre Primary.

Pre Primary Children

A full health screen including hearing and vision testing is provided.

Year 1 Children

If not done at Pre Primary level, a full health screen is provided.

Year 8 Children – Students will receive immunisations as per the school based immunisation program these include:

  • Adult Diphtheria,
  • Tetanus,
  • Measles,
  • Mumps and Rubella.
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Hepatitis B 1 and 2
  • HPV 1, 2 and 3
  • Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

The school will send an SMS message to remind them of the date when their child will receive the Year 8 immunisations.

The following services are available to parents and children, through the school. The school does not have a nurse on site.


A Dental Clinic is situated at Exmouth Hospital – telephone 9949 3690. The dentist undertakes dental screening of students during the year.

Speech and Occupational Therapists

These are based at Carnarvon Hospital – telephone 9941 1555. These services are available through referrals from the school. Exmouth DHS does have access to both services upon occasion.
