Principal’s Message

Welcome to Exmouth District High School, a place where we stand together as one to create a thriving, connected K–12 learning community.

It is an honour to lead a school so deeply shaped by its people, its culture, and its coastal environment. Exmouth DHS is more than a place of learning; it is a community where students are known, supported, challenged, and celebrated from their very first days in Kindergarten through to their final year of schooling.

Our belief in “We Stand Together as One School, One Community” sits at the heart of everything we do. We work in partnership with families, staff, and our wider community to ensure every young person feels safe, valued, and inspired to aim high. Together, we build strong relationships, shared responsibility, and a culture of belonging that allows students to flourish both academically and personally.

We place a strong emphasis on explicit, evidence-informed teaching and consistent classroom practice, ensuring every student experiences high-quality learning every day. Alongside strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, students engage in rich programs across the arts, sport, STEAM, wellbeing, and outdoor education. Drawing on our unique location and the talents of our staff, we broaden horizons and ignite curiosity.

Our school is strengthened by the rich culture within our community. We honour diversity, value respectful relationships, and work hard to ensure our students grow into confident, compassionate young people who contribute positively to the world around them.

Student wellbeing and safety remain central to our work. Through positive behaviour approaches, strong Student Support Team practices, and close collaboration with families, we strive to create an environment where every child feels secure, supported, and ready to learn.

Equally, we are proud of our dedicated staff. By investing in professional learning, collaboration, and shared leadership, we continue to build a united team focused on continual improvement and excellence in teaching and learning.

Whether you are a current family, a prospective enrolment, or a visitor to our website, I warmly welcome you to Exmouth District High School. I encourage you to explore what makes our school special and to join us as we continue to grow, learn, and succeed together.

Marcus Gianatti,

Principal
